Bio: Ryan Kemp (PhD, University of Notre Dame) is an associate professor of philosophy at Wheaton College, publishing mostly on topics in European philosophy and the philosophy of religion. His most recent book (What We Are in the Light) is a collection of essays that explores, in a roughly existentialist vein, questions of love, beauty, and attention in thinkers as various as Søren Kierkegaard, Julian of Norwich, Simone Weil, and Fyodor Dostoevsky. While at the Center, Ryan will be writing on the relationship between love and beauty in Kierkegaard’s moral-religious psychology.
